花木蘭另一個爭議是：
《花木蘭》片尾特別銘謝清單的截圖，當中包括多個新疆政府部門，如吐魯番公共安全局（Turpan Municipal Bureau of Public Security）、新疆維吾爾自治區委員會宣傳部（publicity department of CPC Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomy Region Committee）等。
中國因打壓維吾爾族與其他在新疆的穆斯林少數民族，受到國際上的密切關注。據估計該地區前後至少有100萬民維吾爾族被拘留。維吾爾族婦女稱「強迫節育」是政府遏制生育率的手段之一，專家甚至以「種族滅絕」來形容。中國再三反駁這些指控。
前香港眾志秘書長黃之鋒在推特上轉發貼文，提醒進場看《花木蘭》，不但是對公安的暴力和種族迫害視而不見，更在不自覺中成為迫害維吾爾人權的同路人。
